On November 6, 2024, the United States CleanTech and Carbon Neutrality Cooperation Conference was grandly held in Suzhou, and it was also the third stop of a delegation of American clean technology companies visiting China. This event is hosted by the Development and Reform Commission of Suzhou City and the Yangtze River Delta Carbon Neutrality Strategy Development Research Institute of Southeast University, and organized by the Energy and Transportation Innovation Center. The conference invited several industry experts and representatives from Chinese and American companies to participate in discussing how to address the challenges of global climate change through technological innovation and cooperation.

Jin Xiaohu, Deputy Secretary General of Suzhou Municipal People's Government, and Zhu Xiaoming, Dean of Southeast University Yangtze River Delta Carbon Neutrality Strategy Development Research Institute, attended the meeting and delivered speeches. In his speech, Jin Xiaohu stated that clean technology cooperation has become a new growth point for China US cooperation in the field of climate change. Deepening cooperation in this area will not only contribute to the economic development and social progress of the two countries, but also play an important demonstration role in global green and low-carbon development.

As a member of the US corporate delegation, Dr. Xu Zhiyong delivered a speech at the conference, emphasizing the important position of Suzhou in promoting green and low-carbon development. He pointed out that Suzhou is one of the largest manufacturing cities and economic innovation centers in China, committed to reducing carbon emissions, including investing in green infrastructure, energy-efficient buildings, and renewable energy projects. By taking proactive and effective measures, Suzhou demonstrates how local governments play a crucial role in achieving net zero emissions. As the world's largest economy and major emitter, China and the United States shoulder the responsibility of promoting the development of clean technology.
